About Justine

https://www.sac.org.au/residen...

Justine Demaine is the founder and principal practitioner at The Quirky Therapist with 23 years of experience working with families, teenagers, young people and children in clinical settings, homes and schools.

Justine is qualified in family therapy & behaviour therapy (not the type of behaviour therapy that denies human rights!) and social work. She takes a hands-on approach to solving problems which aligns closely with her favourite professionals the brilliant Virginia Satir & Salvador Minuchin within a human rights framework.

When working with teens and young people, Justine believes in a systems approach that examines how their environment is impacting the teen/young person (both positives & negatives).

ALL ANSWERS ARE IN THE ENVIRONMENT.

Some common conversations -

'Every day feels chaotic, how can we parent differently'.

'My teen doesn't seem to like me anymore'.

Justine is passionate about researching neuro-diversity and how teens and young people learn best. Justine has worked in a variety of settings in Sydney and Victoria as well as Bangladesh, Vietnam, the USA and UK.
